They contain English translations of the works of the early Christians, covering the period from the beginning of Christianity until the adoption of the Nicene Creed in 325. This volume includes the following writings; The Pastor of Hermas (sometimes called The Shepherd of Hermas); the writings of Tatian the Syrian; the writings of the Byzantine Emperor, Theophilus; the writings of Athenagoras of Athens; and, the writings of Clement of Alexandria.
This book has 474,934 words, and was originally published between 1867 and 1873.
