George E. Sioui, Sheila FischmannA Huron born and raised near Quebec City, Georges Sioui is the first to present guidelines for the study of Native history from an Amerindian point of view. He argues that these guidelines must be respected if the self-image and social ethics of Native people are to be understood and preserved and shows that they provide a way to greatly improve the way Native people and more recent immigrants to the Americas perceive each other.
